Aging is inevitable. The first appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation becomes more prominent with age.

Classification of aging

Intrinsic aging (chronologic aging) – is primarily caused by the natural aging process. The first appearance of fine lines and wrinkles – loss of volume, uneven tone and texture, redness and pigmentation – occurs in the mid- 20s, and becomes more prominent with age due to a natural decline in collagen and elastin synthesis, slower cellular turnover and dehydration among others. In response, skin becomes thin, fragile and more prone to damage.

Extrinsic aging (photo-aging) – is primarily caused by external factors, which include the environment, chronic exposure to sun and ultra-violet radiation, air pollution, and lifestyle choices such as smoking and alcohol. To prevent premature aging, cleanse, moisturize and protect your skin with SPF, avoid stress, smoking and alcohol, eat a healthy balanced diet, and engage in regular physical activity.

Skin rejuvenation laser treatment is an effective, non-invasive way of improving skin texture. A fantastic catch-all treatment uses specially designed laser therapy. Laser skin rejuvenation — is non-ablative, meaning it does not remove any skin but treats tissue and works the melanin in the skin, which reduces pigmentation and whitens the skin. This also helps the skin appear more even in colour and helps reduce the size of wrinkles and pores.

This unique approach allows the skin to heal rapidly after treatment which not only produces better results but also lowers the risk of any side effects. One of the significant advantages of laser skin resurfacing is that the treatment can be customised to the patient’s needs, targeting specific skin areas and lesions.

Clarity II Laser Rejuvenation

Clarity II is a dual wavelength laser platform that combines two separate laser sources, a 755 nm Alexandrite laser and a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, in a single delivery system.

A controlled amount of therapeutic energy is delivered individually, or optically combined in each pulse and delivered to target tissues.

Thermal energy is also selectively absorbed by target chromophores – melanin or hemoglobin – for destruction of pigmented lesions in target tissues.

The thermal impact in target tissues stimulates proliferation of fibroblasts cells for enhanced collagen production.

A cryogen cooling system is integrated for enhanced patient tolerance.

Treatment Protocol:
A minimum of 6 consecutive treatment sessions, 3-5 weeks apart, are required. Maintenance treatments are recommended.

What can I expect after having had non-ablative laser rejuvenation?

Recovery time following the procedure is minimal. Improvement is gradual and can take several months to take full effect. In some cases, a series of treatments may be necessary.

Most clients can return to work immediately after the procedure.
Redness caused by the treatment can be camouflaged by makeup without any negative effects.
The treatment area should be kept well moisturized.
Cold compresses can be applied to alleviate pain.
Sun exposure should be avoided after the treatment. Broad-spectrum sunscreens of at least SPF 30 should be applied daily.
